Breathing deeply can help you feel more peaceful and think more clearly when communicating with your guardian angel through prayer or meditation. In fact, saying breath prayers (prayers short enough to be expressed in one breath) can offer especially powerful benefits.
I first learned about the benefits of deep breathing while singing in various choral groups years ago. Our musical directors would constantly remind us to "Breathe deeply!" and often lead us in breathing exercises designed to help us breathe not just from our chests, but also from our abdomens. Every time I fully expanded my diaphragm while breathing, I could sing better, and I could concentrate better, too.
Now I no longer sing in a performing group, but I still do my best to notice and adjust my breathing -- especially when I'm praying.
