While doing research for the article "Famous Miracle Birds in History" I was inspired by the stories of many birds, but two stood out for me, because they were both homing pigeons -- a type of bird that can be trained to deliver messages across long distances. Cher Ami was a hero in War War I; G.I. Joe was a hero during World War II.
Not only did both birds show miraculous courage during their service missions, but they also used the miraculous navigational abilities that God has given homing pigeons. Ever since I first read about homing pigeons as a child, I've been fascinated by these wonderful creatures.
