Sample Lyrics:

(Chorus) "Lead me not into temptation/Heaven help me to be strong/I can fight all that I'm feeling/But I can't do it alone/Help me break this spell that I'm under/Guide my feet and hold me tight/I need ten thousand angels watching over me tonight"

Angel Connection:

'Ten Thousand Angels' describes a single woman's prayer for heavenly help resisting the charms of a guy to whom she's attracted, yet knows is bad for her. She sings that she needs 10,000 angels watching over her so she won't give into the temptation of starting a romance that will ultimately bring her pain.

Mindy McCready sang this song on her country music album that was also called Ten Thousand Angels. Tragically, McCready herself was involved in some romances with men that led to pain in her life. She later committed suicide.
