Archangel Haniel oversees the sephirot called "Netzach" -- which means "victory" -- on the Tree of Life in Kabbalah (also called "Qabala"). Here's how Haniel represents victory throughout the universe:
Helping People Rely on God Rather than Their Emotions
People can overcome emotional struggles through Haniel's help, believers say, as they learn how to place their trust in God rather than in their emotions. When people rely on their emotions to guide their daily decisions, they're prone to making many mistakes because their emotions may not reflect reality, and are constantly changing. But people can be victorious in life when they rely on God, and Haniel helps them learn how to do so more.
"Haniel is the Archangel of Netzach...," writes Karen Harrison in her book her book The Everyday Psychic: A Practical Guide to Activating Your Psychic Gifts. "Haniel aids the individual in knowing divinity through the physical senses, and expressing love purely."
In her book Personal Kabbalah: 32 Paths to Inner Peace and Life Purpose, Penny Cohen writes: "The essence of Netzach is eternity and victory. It ensues when we tame our animal instincts and reach the spark within us that opens us up to intuition. In Netzach consciousness we achieve a level of self-mastery at which we are no longer slaves to reactive emotional charges; we overcome dysfunctional character traits and old conditioned patterns, and start living more intuitively. When we do this, we experience the eternal spark, the Divine within us."
Doreen Virtue writes in her book Archangels 101: How to Connect Closely with Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, and Others for Healing, Protection, and Guidance that Netzach is "related to victory and represents our inner world of intuition, imagination, and emotions. The Netzach Sephirah marks the beginning of humans’ free will, and the expression of endurance and tenacity. It is the embodiment of earthly love."
So, Virtue later writes, Haniel can "help you develop your intuition and clairvoyance" and "helps us access the rich sources of wisdom we carry within ourselves, and have clearer communications with the Divine."
Delivering Enlightenment to People
Haniel helps bring divine enlightenment to people, say believers.
That enlightenment can help them learn more about themselves and their potential. Cohen writes that while Haniel is expressing the energy of Netzach, Haniel "offers us insight, artistry, and vision; assists us in determining who we really are; and shows us how to manifest our abilities and talents. He is the archangel who helps us to be our best by filling us with confidence and self-worth. When we have self-doubt, fear, or feelings of hopelessness or indecisiveness, it helps to call on Haniel."
It can also enlighten people about God's glory. Ina Cüsters-van Bergen writes in her book The Temple of High Magic: Hermetic Initiations in the Western Mystery Tradition about Haniel: "It is said that he is the archangel who took Enoch to the heavens. Enoch went into ecstasies about the beauty of Netzach, and raised himself in this way into a visionary heavenly state of enlightenment."
Since God is the source of all love, people who have come to know His glory then can learn how to love more deeply -- which can improve all of their human relationships. Christopher Penczak writes in his book Ascension Magick: Ritual, Myth & Healing for the New Aeon: "The true and deep teachings of Haniel are on the nature of love, true unselfish love, and the proper balance in a romantic or family relationship."
